CCL provides many ways for members to get together to share their ideas and passions, and plan activities. And often members get together and communicate on the CCL Community website. These take the form of pages for groups, teams, and CCL chapters.
Note: On CCL Community “group” serves as an umbrella term for CCL Chapters, teams, and Custom Groups.
CCL Chapters
CCL Chapters are groups of people who meet in person or online (or both), usually monthly, in their town, city, or area to take action together on a regular basis. Members often use the term “group” to refer to their local CCL Chapter.
When you join CCL, you will be added to the CCL Chapter that best fits your location. If there isn't currently a chapter within 40 miles of the zip code you share with CCL, you will be added to the At-Large Chapter for your state. Your chapter, as well as any other groups and teams you choose to join, will be displayed by clicking on the “My Groups” icon at the top of your Dashboard.
Volunteers can be a member of only ONE chapter at a time.
Teams
Teams are groups of people who meet and share ideas with a more specific purpose than a CCL Chapter. Teams include national Action Teams and local chapter teams.
Action Teams: Unlike CCL Chapters, Action Teams are organized around specific topics, affinities, or areas of focus, such as Agriculture & Forestry, Catholic, or Presenters & Schedulers. Most teams meet regularly in group calls or zooms and communicate using their team's page on CCL Community. To find out about CCL's Action Teams visit the Action Team Directory.
CCL Chapter Teams: CCL Chapter Leaders can create team pages for local teams to collaborate on a particular area, such as an outreach team or a media team. If you would like your CCL chapter to support a CCL Chapter Team, contact your CCL Chapter Leader.
Volunteers can join as many national or local teams as they'd like. Note that not every chapter has created teams.
Custom Groups
Custom Groups: State Coordinators can create pages for groups of CCL members to collaborate based on their role or area of interest, such as MD Group Leaders, a CA Liaison Group or a DFW Media Group. Custom Groups are normally only visible to their members.
