Recommendations to improve deliverability and email composition experience in CCL Community:
- CCL Community's email feature is not a newsletter or email marketing application. It is a basic email application like Gmail or Yahoo email. If you expect to produce a great-looking newsletter using CCL Community email, you will be disappointed with the outcome unless you understand HTML and CSS.
- Draft your message in a plain text editor (Notes for Mac users, Notepad for PC users), not Microsoft Word or Google Docs. Drafting your message in a plain text editor prevents lost work if you accidentally leave this page or lose your internet connection.
- Copy and paste the plain text from Notes or Notepad into the email features message body.
- The problems with copy and paste from anything other than a plain text editor.
- When copying and pasting content directly from Word or Google Docs, you may inadvertently introduce hidden formatting codes that can interfere with our editor's functionality, leading to display issues and unexpected formatting errors.
- Copy and paste images may appear in the editor but will not be sent.
- The formatting menu works like Word or Google Docs, but since you're emailing vs. composing a document, just use basic formatting (bold, italics, bullets, and built-in headings).
- Keep the content meaningful and concise:
- Keep paragraphs short and provide an extra space between them—including bulleted lists—to open up the page and reduce the text density.
- Use images sparingly and only if they add to the content. Emails with images load slowly on mobile devices, and many users block images in emails.
- Don't copy and paste a link from another CCL or CCL Community email. Instead, copy the URL from the original webpage.
